To introduce students to the basic concepts of occupational health and safety and to the legal framework for safe and healthy work.
Course content - lectures:

Occupational health and safety and the European Union.The concept and areas of occupational health and safety: safety-technology, occupational health.The levels of regulation and legal institutions of occupational health and safety. Safety engineering of material handling. Ergonomics: concepts, theoretical and practical aspects. Man-machine environment.Creating safe and healthy working conditions. Safety engineering of electricity: contact protection, lightning protection issues.Concept of risk, risk assessment and management, incorporation into management levels. Occupational health and safety - prevention - responsibility.Fire safety, first aid. Safety engineering of some production processes.
