Course objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarise students with the operation, parts and basic construction of plastic processing tools and peripherals.
Course content - lectures:

In the Plastic Processing Tools and Peripherals course, students will learn the basic construction of injection moulding tools. Inlet system design. Design and dimensioning of distribution channels and dams. Moving parts in moulds, special designs and side movements. Product removal from the mould. Understanding ejector mechanisms. Design of cooling circuits for tool tempering. Familiarisation with plastic processing tool peripherals (hot runner controls, temperers, hydraulic movement/control devices for tool cores, control devices for pneumatic movements within the tool, water circuit cleaning/diagnostic devices). 1. During the semester, students will write 1 final paper and submit an assignment. The place and time of the final examination will be announced by the lecturer in the first week of the semester. Design assignments must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before the end of the term.
