Course objectives

Students will learn about extrusion technologies and the manufacturing processes based on them.

Course content
Labs

- Measurement and interpretation of extrusion process status indicators (p–v–T ratios). - Examination of extruded product characteristics: size, surface quality, anisotropic properties (orientation, internal stress). - Processing and evaluation of measurement data collected during the manufacturing process.

Acquired competences
Knowledge

- Comprehensive knowledge of the basic facts, directions and limits of the subject area. - Comprehensive knowledge of the terminology, key contexts and theories related to the field.

Skills

- Ability to understand the most important terminology and theories of the technical field, theories, theories and procedures of the relevant technical field in the performance of related tasks. - Ability to understand and use the literature specific to their field, computer and library resources.

Attitude

- Using the technical knowledge acquired, it seeks to apply the observable to understand as thoroughly as possible the phenomena observed and to describe their laws, explaining its phenomena.

Autonomy and responsibilities

- Independently carry out comprehensive, well-founded professional assessments in unexpected decision-making situations. think through and develop the issues on the basis of given sources. - Responsibly upholds and represents the values of the engineering profession, with an open mind open to professionally informed critical comment. - In the performance of his/her professional duties, collaborates with others (primarily technical, economic and law) with other qualified professionals in the field.

Requirements, evaluation and grading
Mid-term study requirements

Participation in laboratory exercises and submission of the semester report.

Generative AI usage

2nd position: Use of GAI tools is permitted in a limited manner (e.g., for literature search support or specific tools). In this case, the course instructor is responsible for defining where and how GAI tools may be used in assignments. The course description must specify in detail how GAI tools may be used during the course.

Study aids, laboratory background

Processing machines and material testing equipment located in the laboratories of the Polymer Processing Research Group (Building 9).
