Course objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarise students with the parts and basic structures of plastics processing machinery.
Course content - lectures:

1. Registration week 2. Construction and operation of injection moulding machine 3. Types of closing unit, design options 4. Injection unit parts (cylinder and screw design, geometric dimensions) 5. Controls, special design injection moulding machines, automation 6. First test 7. Tooling, technical solutions 8. Peripherals (supply systems, dryers, temperers, feeders, robots) 9. Machines for thermosetting plastic processing (compression moulding, injection moulding, thermosetting injection moulding) 10. Thermoforming machines (vacuum forming, press-air forming) 11. Machines for the production of hollow bodies (rotational moulding, injection moulding, extrusion blow moulding) 12. Second Test 13. Project task report 14. Maintenance of injection moulding machines, maintenance plan

Mid-term study requirements:
During the semester, students will write 2 final papers and submit an assignment. The lecturer of the course will inform the students of the time and place of the final examination in the first week of the semester. Design assignments must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before the end of the term.
