Course objectives:
The objective of the course is to introduce students to the basic principles of control engineering.
Course content:

Acquired competences:
Knowledge:

The student is familiar with the technical terms related to control engineering. The student is capable of analyzing control systems based on fundamental principles. They are able to independently acquire deeper knowledge based on the basic knowledge obtained, to process the literature, and then to solve problems related to the area.

Skills:

Is familiar with the natural science principles and methods necessary for practicing their field of expertise (mathematics, physics). Possesses basic knowledge and an engineering perspective related to the processing of measured signals, modeling of systems and networks, and their control.

Attitude:

Authentically represents the professional principles of the engineering field, striving to understand the entire technical system beyond their own tasks. Open to learning new methods and procedures and mastering them at a skill level.

Autonomy and responsibilities:

With a safety-conscious attitude and armed with professional knowledge, identifies the shortcomings, risks, and potential hazards of applied technologies and strives to eliminate or mitigate them. Feels responsible for their independent and group analytical and engineering operational activities.

Additional professional competences:

Requirements, evaluation, grading:
Mid-term study requirements:

Exam requirements:

The exam is a 90-minute written assessment that requires both theoretical and practical knowledge. In the event of a pandemic, the exam will be an online set of calculation and test-type tasks that must be completed within a specified time—details about the procedure and nature of the exam will be provided by the lecturer/instructor, tailored to the specific semester.

Study aids, laboratory background:

Electronic supplementary materials are available for the successful completion of the course, about which the lecturer/instructor will provide more detailed information.
