The aim of the course is to develop students’ professional communication skills in English, to expand their knowledge of Business English and professional vocabulary, and to improve their overall English language skills, with particular emphasis on developing oral production skills.

Presentation of course requirements, setting learning objectives, forming groups for the presentation task, introducing presentation topics, watching and evaluating presentation videos, teaching the vocabulary necessary for delivering presentations. 2.Acquiring business etiquette; introductions and farewells in business and corporate environments; principles of corporate and business communication; brief presentation of a company. 3.Vocabulary development: numbers, dates, the importance of organization and time in the business world; vocabulary related to analyzing charts and tables; sentence construction; synonyms. 4. Company structures; description of departments; types of occupations; description of responsibilities; skills required for specific positions; advantages and disadvantages of certain jobs; salary, benefits, bonuses; analysis of videos and job advertisements. 5. The concept of supply and demand; costs; requesting a quotation; expressions related to quotations; emails; phone calls; analysis of advertisements; writing a product advertisement in groups. 6.Product descriptions; expressions related to describing products; customer service; complaints; handling complaints and conflicts; polite questions and responses; problem-solving in groups. 7.bOrdering goods and services; modifying orders; responding to orders; payment terms; invoices; delivery terms; payment reminders. 8.Knowledge assessment; online test based on the learned vocabulary; grammar review: practicing tenses – daily routine (Present Simple), describing past actions (Past Simple). 9. Organizing meetings and appointments; telephone communication; emails; invitations; formal style; polite conversation; phrases used in professional meetings; practicing argumentation. 10. Planning and preparing business negotiations; organizing conferences; situational exercises based on emails and phone calls; group work. 11.Vocabulary related to business travel; organizing travel; means of transportation; selecting types of accommodation; travel-related role plays in pairs. 12.Delivering presentations; solving situational tasks based on the completed material. 13. Assessment of professional vocabulary; mid-term test; course evaluation.

Knowledge
Has acquired the written and oral forms of professional and effective communication, including tabular and graphical methods of presenting data in English. Possesses the fundamental professional vocabulary of economics in their native language and in at least one foreign language.
Skills
Is able to present professionally formulated proposals and positions, based on conceptual and theoretical considerations, both orally and in writing in a foreign language, in accordance with the rules of professional communication. Is capable of using a foreign language for professional purposes at an intermediate level.

Demonstrates problem sensitivity and a proactive attitude in order to ensure high-quality work; in projects and group tasks acts constructively, cooperatively, and with initiative. A gyakorlati jegyet a hallgatók a számonkérések során szerzett pontok alapján kapják: gazdasági témájú prezentációt készítenek, zárthelyi dolgozatot írnak az átvett tananyagból, illetve, órán nyelvi kommunikációs feladatokat oldanak meg írásban és szóban. A tantárgy teljesítéséhez, a maximálisan megszerezhető 100 pontból összesen legalább 50 pontot kell elérni a szóbeli kommunikációs feladatok, az írásbeli dolgozatok és a prezentáció pontszámait összegezve.

Use of GAI tools is not permitted for solving assignments. This means GAI tools cannot be used to complete formative or summative assessments, and using GAI constitutes academic misconduct. The use of AI tools for spelling and grammar checking does not fall under this prohibition.
