The objective of the course is to provide students with insight into the domestic and international development of accommodation services, as well as the operation of various rating systems. Students will master the basic tasks related to accommodation management and become familiar with the most important key performance indicators. They will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the legal regulations governing accommodation establishments, regulatory requirements, as well as security and technical specifications. Students will gain an overview of hotel sales and marketing characteristics, revenue management, the role of human resource management, and current trends in accommodation services. In addition, they will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various areas of guest accommodation.

Course Content / Knowledge to be Acquired: Overview of the domestic development of accommodation services, along with the governing legal frameworks and concepts. Presentation of various accommodation types—hotels, campsites—and their rating systems. Characteristics and rating criteria of rural tourism and private accommodation establishments, as well as the economic significance of accommodation provision and applied statistical indicators. Organizational structure of hotels, departmental tasks, and inter-departmental cooperation; Front Office operations I (PMS systems, reservation management). Front Office operations II (forecasting, pricing, guest reception, invoicing, check-out/departure, night audit). Overview of the Housekeeping department I (tasks, responsibilities, planning staffing requirements). Housekeeping operations II (work organization, hygiene regulations, laundry and laundry services).

Mid-term study requirements
1. One midterm test based on lecture materials. A total of 100 points can be obtained from the test. A minimum of 51 points is required to pass. 2. Presentation at the end of the semester on a selected accommodation establishment based on criteria provided by the instructor. 3. An offered final grade can be earned (from grade 4 - Good) based on the combined results of the midterm test and the presentation.
Exam requirements
-written assignment/case study -oral presentation -Students who have not obtained an offered grade can complete the course during the exam period. The written exam consists of a test.
